In his opinion, in 2-3 years the electricity tariff may reach 8-9 hryvnia.
Next year the cost of electricity for the population will be 6.5-7 hryvnia. That is, by 2025, the tariff will increase by 50-75%.
This was stated by the head of the Union of Consumers of Public Utilities Oleh Popenko, Novosti.LIVE reports.
“This has already been announced by representatives of the people's deputy Nagornyak, representatives of DTEK and YASNO,” Popenko says.
In his opinion, in 2-3 years, the electricity tariff may reach 8-9 hryvnia.
The expert explained that, despite the government's promises not to raise utility tariffs, this only applies to a few services.
“The law, which was adopted in August 2022, only mentions three utilities: heat supply, hot water supply and gas distribution. All other utilities are not spelled out in the law and may be raised,” Oleh Popenko notes.
Recall that in June, the government raised the electricity tariff for the population. Since June 1, it is 4.32 UAH/kW and will be valid until the end of April 2025.
Earlier, the Ministry of Energy explained what will happen to gas prices during the heating season.
