The provision on additional payments is contained in the draft state budget.
In Ukraine, during martial law, Chernobyl pensioners will receive an additional pension payment in the amount of 2,361 UAH per month.
This is stated in draft law No. 12000.
It is noted that according to the new draft law on the State Budget for 2025, the “Chernobyl pension” will not be paid to all pensioners. This assistance is received by pensioners who do not work, but permanently reside in the evacuation zones and lived or worked there from 1986 to 1993.
Pensioners who changed their place of residence after the Chernobyl accident or moved to the zones after the disaster will not receive additional payment.
In addition, if a Chernobyl pensioner leaves their permanent place of residence in the evacuation zone and registers outside it, the payment is terminated. To this end, the Pension Fund is instructed to regularly verify data from the Unified State Demographic Register and other state registers to confirm the right to extend or terminate payments.
As reported, in just a few months, Ukraine may see a significant increase in utility rates. In particular, for heating and water supply.
