The largest number of mortgage loans in September were issued in Kyiv and the Kyiv region.
In September, Ukrainian banks issued 681 mortgage loans for a total of UAH 1.2 billion.
This was reported by the National Bank of Ukraine with reference to data from a monthly survey of banks on mortgage lending.
“12 banks that provided loans for the purchase of housing reported issuing new mortgages in September. Most transactions were still concluded on the secondary real estate market,” the National Bank reported.
The average weighted effective rate on mortgage loans in September increased to 8.3% per annum from 8.2% in August.
More mortgage loans were issued in September in Kyiv and the Kyiv region – 371 agreements were concluded for a total of UAH 714.8 million, which is 59.3% of the total volume.
In the Lviv region, 38 agreements were concluded for UAH 72.3 million, in the Odessa region – 30 agreements for UAH 47.9 million, in the Vinnytsia region – 25 agreements for UAH 41.9 million.
Since the beginning of 2024, Ukrainians have taken out 7,891 loans for UAH 13.5 billion to purchase housing under this program.
Recall that military personnel and law enforcement officers, doctors, teachers, scientists and their family members can receive loans at a preferential rate of 3%, for combat veterans, internally displaced persons and other citizens without housing, the mortgage rate is 7%.
