The 2025 budget sets the dollar exchange rate at 45 UAH/USD.
In Ukraine, in 2025, the exchange rate of the American dollar may rise sharply and reach a record 47 hryvnia.
This was stated by the executive director of the Economic Discussion Club, Oleg Pendzin, on air at “Ranok. Live”.
According to Pendzin, the State Budget for 2025 provides that one dollar will cost 45 hryvnia. Therefore, the growth of the American currency is expected from the current value of 42 hryvnia to higher values. Possibly, up to 47 hryvnia.
The expert emphasizes that the only seller of currency is the NBU. It is the National Bank that monitors the dollar exchange rate. According to Pendzin, in Ukraine “there is no currency market in the usual sense.”
“Under normal conditions, there are many currency sellers – exporters, and many buyers – importers, and the interaction of their supply and demand forms the rate. Plus, there is a regulator that stands above and, at best, buys up or makes some interventions. This is how a normal currency market functions,” the expert said.
That is why he believes: this means that Ukrainian citizens should not have illusions about how much the price of the US dollar will grow.
Recall that in Ukraine recently the hryvnia has collapsed to a record low. Moreover, experts predict further devaluation of the national currency.
