Carrot sellers are raising prices due to a decrease in stocks.
The rise in prices is due to high demand for quality products in conditions of limited supply.
This was reported by analysts at EastFruit.
It became known that active purchases of carrots by wholesale companies and retail chains entail a rapid reduction in its stocks in storage facilities.
Carrot prices today are 25-33 UAH/kg, which is 10% more expensive than at the end of last week. This increase is due to a significant reduction in supply on the market. Many farmers have already sold all their products, and large farms are now shipping carrots only under previously concluded contracts.
Despite the presence of significant volumes of Polish carrots on the market, prices do not stop rising. Demand for imported products also remains very high. Currently, the price of high-quality carrots in Ukraine is on average 2.4 times higher than a year ago. Some producers are planning a further price increase if sales rates remain at the current level.
