Will they take 9% of the salary for the future pension: the Ministry of Social Policy explained

The introduction of the funded system will not lead to an increase in the burden on taxpayers.

The introduction of funded pensions will not provide for an increase in taxes, as stated by the Ministry of Social Policy after information about the deduction of 9% of the salary for the future pension.

This was stated in a message on the page of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine.

The Ministry has developed a comprehensive pension reform. The relevant draft laws have been submitted to the authorities and other interested parties for review and proposals.

“The goal of the reform is to create a fair and transparent pension system so that every Ukrainian man and woman can receive a decent pension,” they noted.

They also noted that the introduction of a funded system, which is part of the reform, will allow workers to further increase the size of their future pension during their working experience.

It is important to know that this will not increase the burden on taxpayers, because the employer's and citizen's contributions will not increase and will be allocated from the current Unified Social Contribution and personal income tax.

At their own request, the employee will be able to pay an additional voluntary contribution.

It is expected that the introduction of the funded system will increase the pension by another 15-20% compared to the average salary of a person during life, in addition to the solidarity part of the pension.

Recall that earlier there was talk about the fact that the Cabinet of Ministers' bill on pension reform could be submitted for consideration. And as early as 2026, the first steps in the implementation of the funded pension system in Ukraine may begin.
