As a result of the work of the negotiating teams, it was possible to exclude the clauses on Ukraine's debt, on the sole ownership of the US Investment Recovery Fund, and also on the fact that for every dollar of new aid Ukraine must give 2 dollars.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said this at a government meeting on February 26, Ukrinform reports with reference to his Telegram.
“As a result of the work of the negotiating teams, this agreement has become much better. There is no longer a $500 billion debt or any other debt in the agreement. There is no longer an unfair clause that for every $1 of new aid Ukraine must give $2. There are no unfair positions that the fund will belong only to America,”
Shmyhal emphasized that as a result of signing the agreement, Ukraine receives double benefits.
“We are attracting American investments and technologies to restore the country. And we are accumulating resources for the implementation of strategic projects for the well-being of every Ukrainian,” he said.
As reported by Ukrinform, the Cabinet of Ministers made a decision to sign an agreement between Ukraine and the United States – on the creation of an Investment Recovery Fund. The agreement will have six key positions.
