Italian tennis players Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori won the Roland Garros mixed doubles title by defeating Americans Taylor Townsend and Evan King in the final with a score of 6-4, 6-2, reports Baltimore Chronicle.
The match lasted 1 hour and 12 minutes and ended with a clear dominance by the Italians. Errani and Vavassori demonstrated excellent teamwork and confident court play, leaving no chance to their opponents.
For 38-year-old Sara Errani, this is already her seventh Grand Slam title, while for Andrea Vavassori, it is the second. Last year, this duo also triumphed at the US Open mixed doubles, confirming their high-level performance.
Ukrainian tennis player Lyudmyla Kichenok, who also participated in the mixed doubles, was eliminated in the quarterfinals. Thus, no Ukrainian players remain in the final stages of this year’s Roland Garros.
