“This transfer is the first of its kind. United States to a foreign ally with the explicit purpose of providing assistance to Ukraine,” the ministry said.

As the US Department of Justice said, these funds were confiscated in the case of a network of illegal purchases of high-precision machine tools for the military industry of the Russian Federation.

“Today's announcement demonstrates the strong determination of the United States and our Estonian partners to end President Putin's access to the Western technology he relies on to wage his illegal war against Ukraine. This step towards justice and restoration paves a new path in the fight against Russia’s ongoing brutality,” commented Lisa Monaco.
