So, US Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco and Estonia Secretary General Tinis Saar announced the transfer of $500 thousand from confiscated Russian assets on February 17 at the Munich Security Conference.
“This transfer is the first of its kind. United States to a foreign ally with the explicit purpose of providing assistance to Ukraine,” the ministry said.
As the US Department of Justice said, these funds were confiscated in the case of a network of illegal purchases of high-precision machine tools for the military industry of the Russian Federation.
“Today's announcement demonstrates the strong determination of the United States and our Estonian partners to end President Putin's access to the Western technology he relies on to wage his illegal war against Ukraine.
