The Cabinet of Ministers told what the price of utilities will be in Ukraine from May 1, 2024.
In Ukraine, the cost of electricity will not increase until the end of May 2024 and will amount to 2.64 UAH/kWh. Until the end of summer, the preferential gas price for suppliers of heat and hot water for the population will remain.
This was announced at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
“We are making a decision to extend the preferential price for electricity for the population – 2 UAH 64 kopecks per kilowatt. The regulation on imposing special responsibilities on participants in the electricity market will be extended until May 31,” said Prime Minister Denis Shmygal.
However, discussions have already begun about a possible increase in the cost of electricity. As Denis Shmygal noted, despite 24/7 repairs, a significant deficit remains in the energy system.
“We are installing mini-CHPs in different cities, strengthening the energy system through its decentralization, but it is impossible to restore everything quickly. Therefore, I urge the Ukrainians use electricity economically,” the prime minister added.
The Cabinet of Ministers also approved a resolution preserving the preferential gas price for suppliers of heat and hot water for the population until the end of summer.
“Also this week, the state-owned Naftogaz extended the preferential gas price for the population. It is “will continue to be 7 UAH 96 kopecks per cubic meter of blue fuel,” summarized Denis Shmygal.
