Taiwan has condemned the Russian attack and has already joined Western sanctions, although this is largely symbolic since there is only minimal direct trade between the island and Russia.
Sanctioned goods
The list of sanctioned goods includes equipment for the production of semiconductors, in which Taiwan is a world leader, as well as certain chemicals and drugs, complementing previous sanctions already aimed at the chip industry.
The new sanctions are in response those that have already been announced by the European Union, the United States and other countries, the ministry said in a statement.
