The Luxembourg government has extended the period of legal stay of refugees from Ukraine on the territory of the country for a year until March 4, 2025. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Luxembourg.

Given this, the certificates issued to Ukrainian refugees as confirmation of their status, originally limited to March 3, 2024, should be updated.
“To this end, all beneficiaries of temporary protection have been contacted in the last few weeks letters informing them of the procedure to be followed,” the message said.
The Immigration Directorate of the Ministry of the Interior of Luxembourg urges everyone who has not yet taken the necessary steps to reinstate their certificate to follow the instructions provided in the letter .
Ukrainian refugees living in Luxembourg whose certificate of temporary protection expires on March 3, 2024 and who have not received such a letter are asked to contact the Immigration Directorate via email: im**************@ma*.lu .
The Ministry emphasized that the continuation of the certificate of temporary protection is necessary so that refugees from Ukraine can continue to enjoy the rights associated with temporary protection, such as:
- the right to remain in the territory Luxembourg, the right to work, the right to financial assistance provided by the Luxembourg state.
