The NJJ Capital company of the French billionaire Xavier Niel, which previously announced the acquisition of the mobile operator lifecell, also plans to buy the Ukrainian fixed-line operator and digital services company Datagroup-Volya. Interfax-Ukraine reports this. The agency refers to the AMCU response. The corresponding statement from NJJ Capital was received on January 23, 2024.

About the Datagroup-Volia company

In June 2021, Datagroup acquired the pay television and cable high-speed Internet access service provider of the Volia group of companies.

Since this time, the Datagroup-Volia company has been one of the leaders in the telecommunications industry in Ukraine. The company is also actively developing the area of ​​cloud services – the Volia data center provides cloud and physical servers for use, offers hosting, colocation of client servers, IaaS cloud infrastructure and an extensive list of related services. The company was chosen as a service provider to host more than 3 thousand servers.

Background with Lifecell

It was previously reported that NJJ Capital of French billionaire Xavier Niel is buying Lifecell, owned by Turkish Turkcell, for $500 million. The agreement is currently being reviewed by the Antimonopoly Committee.

NJJ owns the third largest mobile operator in France, Iliad, (operating under the Free brand), and also has a telecommunications project in Poland.
