UAH 57.4 billion was allocated for the maintenance of military personnel in January 2024, which is almost half as much as in December 2023 – UAH 107.8 billion. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Finance.

The total amount of cash expenditures of the general fund of the state budget in January amounted to UAH 150.2 billion.
The majority of UAH 75.9 billion, or 50.5%, was allocated to wages with accruals. In particular, 57.4 billion UAH were allocated for the maintenance of military personnel.
Another 1.2 billion UAH were allocated to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In particular, we are talking about the purchase of military equipment, weapons, ammunition, defense products, personal protective equipment, fuel and food.
Among other expenses, last year we spent more:
- 9 UAH .3 billion – to pay for the use of goods and services, or 6.2% of total expenses. UAH 42 billion – for social security (payment of pensions, benefits, scholarships) or 27.9% of total expenses; UAH 9.5 billion – for servicing public debt or 6.3% of the total volume; UAH 11.8 billion is for transfers to local budgets or 7.9% of the total volume.
