Today, March 1, from 13:00, Polish farmers completely blocked the Shegini checkpoint. This was announced by the representative of the State Border Service Andriy Demchenko during the telethon, Ukrinform reports.

“The situation has remained virtually unchanged in recent days. But today there is a certain change in the direction of the Shegini checkpoint. Because at 13:00, as the Polish side told us, Polish farmers refused to let through any truck going either towards Ukraine or towards Poland. Although even before this, there was such a critical minimum of border crossings by trucks in this direction,” he said.
According to the speaker, over the past 24 hours, only 47 freight vehicles crossed this direction in both directions, “and after 13 :00 and now the Ukrainian side records directly at our checkpoint that the trucks are not moving either from Poland or to Poland. The Polish side does not accept cargo vehicles from Ukraine.”
Also, a significant decrease in the number of border crossings by trucks remains in the direction of the Yagodin checkpoint.
“Over the past 24 hours, 111 trucks crossing the border from Poland to Ukraine crossed the border here. As before, Polish farmers do not allow a single truck to pass from Ukraine to Poland. Over the past few days, these are “zero” indicators of border crossings towards Poland in this direction,” Demchenko added.
He reported that 2,350 trucks are in queues at six checkpoints.

Since February 9, 2024, protests by farmers have continued on the territory of Poland near the border with Ukraine roads leading to checkpoints.
The main demands of the protesters are a ban on the import of Ukrainian agricultural products and Poland’s refusal of the European Green Deal.
