Spain's Supreme Court ordered the suspension of messaging service Telegram after media companies complained that Telegram allowed users to download their content without permission. This is reported by Reuters.

The use of Telegram in Spain will be suspended from Monday, March 25, following a request from media companies including Atresmedia, EGEDA, Mediaset and Telefonica.
Judge Santiago Pedraz agreed to block Telegram in Spain while investigating claims. A source in the court said that responsibility for blocking Telegram services will be placed on mobile operators.
According to the antitrust authority CNMC, Telegram is the fourth most popular messaging service in Spain. It is used by about 19% of Spaniards.
