The Ukrburgaz Drilling Department, which is part of the Naftogaz Group, set a record for drilling in April, drilling 40.1 km. This figure was 24% higher than the maximum historical achievement in drilling (32 thousand 423 m) within one month, established in November 2023, reports the press service of Naftogaz.

“Despite the war, we continue to drill new wells , increase gas production, fill underground storage facilities, and generally work to increase production indicators. Thanks to every specialist of Ukrburgaz. I am sure that many more new achievements await us,” said the head of the Naftogaz Group, Alexey Chernyshev.
The company noted that record figures were achieved thanks to:
- coordinated teamwork and high-quality planning; rapid construction of drilling sites (12 were built in March, of which 4 were built with Ukrburgaz resources); accelerated work on the mobilization of equipment and installation of drilling rigs; clear distribution of special vehicles to speed up the start of drilling 9 wells.
According to the head of Ukrgasvydobuvannya Oleg Tolmachev, the company plans to drill 365 thousand meters in 2024.
