Sweden will provide special credit guarantees for exports to Ukraine for $32 million

The Swedish Export Credit Agency (EKN) is opening applications for special credit guarantees for exports to Ukraine from April 1, 2024. This is stated in the EKN message.

This became possible after the corresponding resolution was adopted by the Swedish government on February 29.

It is noted that guarantees should apply to exports to Ukraine , promoting the development and welfare of Ukraine.

In the draft budget for 2024, the Swedish government allocated 333 million Swedish kronor ($32.1 million) for special export credit guarantees for Ukraine. Credit guarantees can be issued in 2024 for the export of goods that can be classified as aid.

The Swedish government has also decided to open a trade secretary office in Kiev and appoint a new trade secretary in Ukraine.

< p>Special export credit guarantees make it easier and less risky for Swedish companies to invest in Ukraine. This improves the possibilities for exporting socially important goods to Ukraine and, thus, can contribute to economic development and construction in the country,” the message says.

The “Ministry of Finance” wrote that Sweden will send Ukraine a new package of military aid worth $680 million. This assistance will be the largest provided by Stockholm since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
