“A pressed accelerator pedal can lead to unintended acceleration of the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash,” NHTSA said.

Tesla will replace or repair the accelerator pedal free of charge, and owners will be notified in June.

On Friday, April 19, the company's shares fell by almost 3%. At the same time, the fall in Tesla shares lasts for five sessions. During that time, the stock lost about 14%.

According to a report from BizzyCar, the electric vehicle maker issued three recalls for about 2.4 million vehicles in the first quarter of 2024.
