In the morning, the interbank market opened in the range of 37.80-37.83 UAH/$, by lunchtime the rate exceeded 38 UAH/$. Demand for the US dollar is growing amid the closure of contracts at the end of the year.

Today, December 28, trading on the Bloomberg platform started at 37.85 UAH/$, and in the first hour and a half the quotes reached 37.97 UAH/$. Before lunch (12:50) transactions were concluded at 38.07 UAH/$. At the same time, the trading volume reached $240 million – which is more than the daily figure on December 26 ($185 million), but is still less than the final volume on December 27 ($340 million).
Trading volume on the main Bloomberg interbank market on December 26 amounted to $184.5 million (the average for recent months). Already on December 27, – $339.4 million. The sales volumes of the National Bank from gold and foreign exchange reserves also increased proportionally – 70-80% of trading.
As of 12 o'clock, the National Bank set the hryvnia/dollar reference rate at the level of 37, 9404 UAH/$.
