The EU will allocate the first tranche to Ukraine under the Ukraine Facility program next week – European Commissioner

The first allocation of funds to Ukraine by the European Union under the new four-year Ukraine Facility program will take place next week. This was announced by the European Budget Commissioner Johannes Hahn, writes Interfax-Ukraine.

“I am very pleased to prepare the ground for the first allocation of funds under the program for Ukraine next week. We support Ukraine and invest in our security,” he wrote on the social network X, illustrating the post with the signing of the document.

For his part, Ukrainian Finance Minister Sergei Marchenko thanked the European Commissioner and the EU for supporting Ukraine.

Ukraine signed documents with the EU for 6 billion euros transition financing, which will allow Ukraine to receive 4.5 billion euros in March and, if two conditions are met, another 1.5 billion euros in April.

The head of the National Bank Andrey Pyshny clarified that this is a loan on preferential terms with a maximum repayment period of 35 years and the beginning of repayment of the principal debt 10 years after the date of transfer of the tranche to the account with the NBU.
