By his decree, Biden ordered Secretary of State Antony Blinken to allocate $400 million for the needs of Ukraine.

What was included in the new aid package

The Pentagon clarified that the aid package included:

    additional ammunition for Patriot air defense systems; additional ammunition for NASAMS; Stinger anti-aircraft missiles; equipment for integrating Western launchers, missiles and radars with Ukrainian systems; additional HIMARS and ammunition; 155 mm and 105 mm artillery shells; Bradley infantry fighting vehicles; M113 armored personnel carriers; Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles; trailers for transporting heavy equipment; optically guided missiles (TOW); Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems; precision aircraft munitions; high-velocity anti-radar missiles (HARM); small arms and additional small arms ammunition and grenades; ammunition and jamming equipment; coastal and river patrol boats; means of chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear protection; spare parts, training ammunition, maintenance and other support equipment.


The Treasury Department wrote that at the end of April 2024, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin confirmed that the United States was allocating $6 billion for military assistance to Ukraine as part of the mechanism for ordering weapons from American manufacturers.

Earlier, US President Joe Biden signed a bill on a $95.3 billion aid package for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan. About $61 billion was included in the bill for expenses related to supporting Ukraine.
