Former US President Donald Trump will back up his demands on Russian dictator Vladimir Putin with financial and military measures.
This information was reported by BILD, URA-Inform reports.
Wall Street Journal journalist Bojan Pančevski said that reports that Donald Trump, if he wins the election, will leave Ukraine to the mercy of Putin are completely untrue.
“Trump has other ideas about what to do in this war, how to negotiate,” — he said.
According to him, all of Trump's confidants who may occupy key positions in his government are “critics of Putin” and intend to put pressure on him. The journalist suggests that Trump may offer an agreement to Putin in the form of an ultimatum:
“It will include things like: 'If you don't make a deal with us and don't want a fair peace in Ukraine, then we will supply Ukraine with a lot more weapons.'”
In addition, according to Panchevski, Trump may completely cut off large Russian banks like Gazprombank from international financial markets or even consider military action against Russia.
“They (the American authorities – ed.) can destroy the Crimean Bridge within a week and then cut off the Crimean Peninsula from Russia. They could do this, for example, if they supplied Ukraine with suitable weapons. If you want the bridge to disappear, that's not a problem,” – added Panchevski.
The journalist also noted that the Ukrainian authorities are beginning to understand that Trump, not Biden, may have a stronger position for negotiations with Putin.
