In response to aggravation of the situation in the Middle East, American airlines United Airlines and Delta Airlines, as well as British Airways, suspended their flights to Israel.
This was reported by The Times of Israel, reports URA-Inform .
According to information published by The Times of Israel, Delta Airlines and British Airways plan to resume flights no earlier than August 2, while United Airlines is canceling its flights until August 6.
Flight cancellations has had serious consequences for tens of thousands of Israelis who are stranded in the United States without the possibility of returning home.
The publication suggests that the decision by United and Delta, which are the world's second and third largest airlines respectively, could trigger a chain reaction and lead to the cancellation of flights by other carriers.
Moreover, Iran had previously announced its intention to conduct a “special operation” against Israel in response to the murder of the head of the Hamas politburo. This threat increased tensions in the region and may have become one of the reasons for the mass cancellation of flights.
