From August 19 to Ukraine is reintroducing power outage schedules. This decision is due to the continuing growth in electricity consumption, which is a consequence of the abnormal heat that has engulfed the country.
This was reported by URA-Inform, citing the press service of Ukrenergo.
The level of electricity consumption as of 9:30 a.m. on August 19 was 2.5% higher than on the previous working day, Friday, August 16. The reason for this growth was the ongoing heat wave, which is affecting more and more regions of Ukraine.
A particularly high level of consumption was recorded on the evening of August 18, when the figures were 3.3% higher than the previous Sunday, August 11.< /p>
In this regard, due to the increase in the power deficit in the energy system, from 17:00 to 21:00 on August 19, measures will be introduced to limit electricity consumption for all categories of consumers, with the exception of critical infrastructure and enterprises that pay for more than 80% of their electricity imports for their own needs. During the specified hours, one schedule of power outages will be in effect.
Recall that Ukrainians have already been warned about new waves of power outages and some important details have been revealed.
