On Saturday, August 24, President Vladimir Zelensky signed several key laws concerning the Ukrainian military and their rights.
This was reported by URA-Inform, citing the Telegram channel of People's Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
The first document, Law No. 11483 establishes the status of military personnel who participate in combat operations on the territory of Russia, including the Kursk region. The law is aimed at improving the social protection of Ukrainian fighters.
Another important law, No. 9585, concerns the rights of foreigners and persons without citizenship, who defend the territorial integrity of Ukraine. It simplifies the process of obtaining temporary residence, immigration permits and citizenship for such defenders and their families.
Law No. 9538 was also signed, which improves the procedure for obtaining, declaring and handling firearms weapons.
It is especially symbolic that the president signed these important documents on Ukraine's Independence Day. Such steps are aimed at strengthening the state's defense.
It is also worth recalling that Zelensky said that Russia will face retribution.
