As is known, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky went to the United States, where his main task was to present a plan for victory in the war with Russia to US President Joe Biden. This event attracted a lot of attention from both the international and Ukrainian press, because, according to Zelensky himself, the end of the war may be closer than many think.
This was reported by URA-Inform, citing ABC News.
In an interview with the American TV program Good Morning America, in a conversation with host Robin Roberts, Zelensky emphasized:
“I believe we are closer to peace than it seems. The end of the war is near.”
These words give hope to Ukrainians and the international community for a speedy end to the protracted conflict.
At the same time, the President of Ukraine made it clear that the most important component of victory is the continued support of allies. He called on countries such as the United States and Great Britain to increase military assistance to Ukraine. Zelensky noted:
“Ukraine's plan for victory depends on how powerful the assistance from our allies will be. This is an extremely important point.”
The head of the Ukrainian state also asked the United States and Great Britain to lift restrictions on the use of long-range missiles that were provided to Ukraine for strikes on Russian targets. Zelensky is confident that only from a “strong position” will Ukraine be able to force Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the war.
At the same time, we previously reported that the war in Ukraine will become more severe – Britain has predicted a new stage of confrontation.
