Minister of Foreign Affairs Polish Affairs Radoslaw Sikorski attacked the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Andriy Sybiha with criticism.
This was reported by “URA-Inform” with reference to TVN24.pl.
In particular, Sikorski expressed sharp criticism of his Ukrainian colleague Andriy Sybiga for an unfulfilled promise. Sikorsky recalled that the Ukrainian side had previously committed to making progress on the issue of exhuming the victims of the Volyn tragedy, which is called the “Volyn massacre” in Poland, by November 1, but had not kept its word.
«Time's up — no progress. “We believe that burying the bodies of even enemies according to Christian rites is part of the European cultural code. And Ukraine seems to agree with this, since it allowed the exhumation of 100,000 Wehrmacht soldiers who came there as invaders,” Sikorski was indignant.
According to the Polish minister, he is disappointed by the lack of progress on this issue, which is important for Poland and Ukraine. He emphasized that Poland only demands the resumption of exhumation work, which was suspended back in 2017.
