German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stated that there can be no negotiations on the war in Ukraine without Kyiv's participation.
This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to the German government's website.
When In this regard, the EU countries should also continue to help the country against Russian aggression.
“We will have to continue to do this (support Ukraine, – ed.). I think it is very important. Ukraine was attacked. It chose to be a European state, a state that belongs to the European Union and its values of democracy and the rule of law. I think if anything has become clear about this terrible war, it is that Ukraine is a European nation with a clear orientation towards the Europe of the European Union and the goals and values that we have,” – said Scholz.
The German Chancellor stressed that there is one principle that almost everyone agrees on – nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine.
“This must continue. It is impossible to discuss this over the heads of Ukraine. Therefore, in my opinion, it should be very, very clear that we discuss everything that is necessary for the future, precisely from this point of view. This is the case when we, as countries of the “Big Seven” – the European Union, the United States, Great Britain, Canada and Japan, have a credit line of 50 billion dollars. In order to make it available to Ukraine, one thing is clear: at the moment, which will be discussed soon, there are means with which Ukraine can ensure its defense capability, regardless of the fiscal restrictions of individual countries or political events,” – added Olaf Scholz.
Recall that earlier it was reported that MP Shevchenko called on Zelensky to engage in dialogue with the Russian Federation: “If you don’t want to, you’ll be forced to leave.”
