A simplified system may be canceled in Ukraine taxation for businesses providing funeral services and introduce VAT on burial services and the sale of funeral goods by state and municipal enterprises.
This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to draft law No. 12189.
These changes may lead to an increase in the cost of such services. Draft law No. 12189, registered on November 8 by a group of people's deputies, including Andriy Motovilovets, Oleh Bondarenko and Maryana Bezuglya, is aimed at modernizing the legislative framework in the field of burial and eliminating monopolies.
«As evidenced by the analysis of the state of affairs in the field of burial, currently certain provisions of the Law of Ukraine «On burial and funeral business» do not meet the requirements of a market economy and the practice of organizing the provision of funeral services», – the explanatory note to the bill says.
The authors of the bill believe that this will help simplify the market and eliminate discrimination by ensuring equal conditions for public and private companies engaged in burials, and will also allow private cemeteries and crematoriums to operate.
In this regard, if the bill is adopted, the following will happen:
— the provisions on exemption from VAT for transactions on the supply of burial services and the supply of funeral goods by public and municipal services will be excluded;
— the application of the simplified taxation, accounting and reporting system for the provision of funeral services has been cancelled.
It was also previously reported that Ukrainians may be forced to buy military bonds: what is known.
