In the conditions of modern geopolitical turbulence, the US elections and their impact on the war in Ukraine are becoming the subject of close attention.
This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to RBC-Ukraine.
Donald Trump, recently elected US President, emphasizes the need to quickly make decisions that will benefit the US and emphasize its dominant role in the world.
However, such initiatives face significant obstacles, especially when it comes to territorial concessions for Ukraine in favor of Russia.
Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, stressed that any concessions could be perceived as support for the “pro-Putin” scenario, which is contrary to the interests of not only Ukraine, but also the West itself.
& #171;It is important for Mr. Trump to demonstrate that his policy is aimed at protecting American interests. But there is one nuance: an attempt to end the conflict through concessions to Russia will only strengthen the Kremlin's position and damage the reputation of the United States as a guarantor of international stability, Podolyak said.
He also added that Russia realizes the impossibility of a military victory over Ukraine and is betting on undermining trust in the United States.
Meanwhile, a new forecast for the negotiations between Ukraine and Russia has appeared.
