Ukraine has reduced the intensity use of American ATACMS missiles on the territory of the aggressor country.
This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to The New York Times .
The New York Times, citing American officials, explained that the reason was a decrease in stockpiles. As the publication's sources noted, the Biden administration sent Ukraine up to 500 ATACMS missiles before it authorized them to strike Russian territory. At that time, Ukrainian fighters used the missiles to strike military targets in the Russian-occupied eastern Ukrainian territories and in Crimea.
Now, according to American officials, Ukraine has about 50 ATACMS missiles left. However, the ability to obtain additional missiles has been virtually exhausted, and the stockpiles of this weapon have already been sent to meet needs in the Middle East and Asia.
“Some analysts argue that Ukraine slowed its use of missiles because at first the targets were Russian facilities that it had long wanted to hit. Now that there are few missiles left, Ukraine is acting more deliberately,” — noted in the publication.
At the same time, journalists believe that Ukraine should not count on the support of the newly elected US President Donald Trump in this matter, since he has already stated that he “very categorically” disagrees with Ukraine’s use of ATACMS on Russian territory and called Biden’s decision to provide them “stupid.”
Recall that earlier it was reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were forced to retreat to the border with the Dnipropetrovsk region: the last line of defense remains.
