As it turned out, a larger number of Ukrainian citizens (52%) are convinced that the country’s tax policy should comply with European standards.

Such data was obtained as a result of a survey conducted by the Razumkov Center, reports URA-Inform.

Interestingly, Ukrainians are divided on when exactly it is worth introducing European tax rules. According to the study, 35% of respondents believe that this should be done after Ukraine receives full membership in the European Union, while 17% believe that this should be done before accession.

However, 29% of survey participants believe that the Ukrainian tax system should not be unified with the European one, and it is preferable to leave it in its current form. The remaining respondents found it difficult to answer.

The survey was conducted from June 21 to July 2, 2024 among 2,026 respondents using the face-to-face method. The study covered only those territories controlled by the Ukrainian government and where there is no fighting. The theoretical sampling error does not exceed 2.3%.

In addition, the survey revealed the attitude of Ukrainians towards integration into the EU and NATO. Two-thirds of respondents (64%) believe that joining the European Union and NATO are equally important for the country. Seven percent of survey participants preferred European integration, and 12% said that NATO membership is more important at the moment.

In the context of the current war, only 30% of Ukrainians support the idea of raising taxes, while 58% are against it step. Moreover, for some it may be very important to learn everything you need to know about taxation. For this reason, a VAT calculator was invented, which will help calculate amounts so that you can properly manage funds in your life.
