At the same time, he noted that despite the fact that “now the situation is changing,” the North Atlantic Alliance does not plan to deploy troops on the territory of Ukraine. Instead, Stoltenberg believes it is important to provide Kyiv with the appropriate amount of military assistance.

“NATO does not intends to deploy troops in Ukraine. When I visited Ukraine last week, the Ukrainians weren't asking for NATO troops, they were asking for more support», — emphasized the Secretary General.

Jens Stoltenberg added that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin still believes in a military victory in Ukraine, and, therefore, the only way to convince Russia to sit down at the negotiating table — “is to prove on the battlefield that he will not win, and the only way to do that is — provide military support to Ukraine.”

We recall that it was previously reported that the war in Ukraine could be ended after three steps by the West: the expert voiced the path to victory.
