The Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights, Dmitry Lubinets, opposed the provision of additional powers to territorial recruitment centers.
Lubinets emphasized that military units do not have the right to restrict the rights of citizens who refuse military service, since this is a direct violation of the Constitution of Ukraine.
«We have other bodies that can implement similar tools for people who refuse to perform military service, but this certainly cannot be done by territorial recruitment centers, namely the military», — noted the Ombudsman, commenting on the new version of the draft law on mobilization.
We recall that it was previously reported that a man came up with a unique way to evade mobilization: the authorities reacted in a unique way.
