Why they still haven’t been able to find Cleopatra’s tomb: archaeologists explain

Archaeologists have still not been able to find Cleopatra's tomb for several reasons:

Historical uncertainty

Historical records regarding the location of Cleopatra's tomb are ambiguous. Ancient sources mention that she was buried with her lover, Mark Antony, but the specific details of their burial remain unknown.

Changes in the landscape

Over two thousand years, the landscape of Egypt has changed significantly. Erosion, landslides, rising sea levels and other natural processes may have significantly altered the site where the tomb may once have been.

Political and social obstacles

Archaeological excavations are often complicated by political, financial and social factors. Excavation permits, research funding, and cultural heritage protection can be significant barriers.
