“Twice they covered the warehouses of other organizations, but just recently they covered our humanitarian aid train, the Red Cross train… They hit us with “martyrs”, hit them with precision. For example, three “shaheeds” flew into our train; everything burned down,” said the commander of the Kherson Nikolai Taranenko, a regional rapid response unit of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society, reports Public Radio.
According to him, enemy shelling of Kherson and the region does not subside – from 30 to 50 strikes daily.
He also added that Russia has increasingly begun to use ballistic missiles to attack civilian infrastructure in the Kherson region.
“The bad thing is that they switched to ballistics, from which it is very difficult to hide. … There is shelling, there is destruction, and, unfortunately, there are casualties,” Taranenko said.
- On December 23, as a result of the Russian shelling of Kherson, seven people were injured, including a 15-year-old child.
- On December 24, the Russian army again launched a massive attack on Kherson and the region. As a result of the shelling, 4 civilians were killed, another 9 people were injured, including a child.
