On the night of December 25, Russia attacked Ukraine with 31 attack UAVs of the “Shahed” type from the Chauda, Balaklava – Crimea areas and two aircraft missiles.
“As a result of the anti-aircraft battle, the forces and means of the Air Force and Defense Forces destroyed 28 attack UAVs “Shahed-136/131” within the Odessa, Kherson, Nikolaev, Donetsk, Kirovograd and Khmelnytsky regions,” the Air Force Command said in a statement. During the air attack, the enemy also used a Kh-59 guided missile in the Zaporozhye direction and an Kh-31P anti-radar missile from the Black Sea. Both were destroyed.
On Christmas Eve, the Russian occupiers attacked the south of Ukraine with suicide bombers and rockets. The drone attack lasted 6.5 hours, the Southern Defense Forces reported.
“Enemy drones launched from the temporarily occupied Crimea attacked in different directions, trying to deplete our air defense and hit as many objects as possible. The enemy’s priority remains the port infrastructure and other objects important for the existence of the region,” the message says. .
The debris of a downed UAV caused damage to technical premises in the port infrastructure of Odessa, and in the Razdelnyansky district, an inactive administrative building and a warehouse of a mothballed facility were also damaged by debris during the damage, the fire was promptly extinguished. No people were injured.
At the same time, in the Berislavsky district of the Kherson region it was not possible to avoid being hit. A fire broke out in the warehouses, which firefighters have already extinguished, the Southern Defense Forces reported.

In total, the enemy launched two missile and 61 air strikes, and carried out 45 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas. Russian terrorist attacks have unfortunately resulted in civilian deaths and injuries. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.
In the Kupyansky direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 21 enemy attacks near Sinkovka, Kharkov region and Stelmakhovka, Luhansk region, where the enemy unsuccessfully tried to break through the defenses of our troops.
In the Avdeevka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy, who is not abandoning attempts to cordon off Avdeevka. Our soldiers steadfastly hold the defense, inflicting significant losses on the invaders. The defense forces repelled 14 enemy attacks east of Novobakhmutovka, Stepnoy, Avdeevka, as well as 17 attacks near Pervomaiskoye and Nevelskoye.
In the Kherson direction, the enemy is not abandoning attempts to dislodge our units from their positions. Over the past 24 hours, he carried out 23 unsuccessful assault operations, received a worthy rebuff and retreated.
Defense Forces aviation carried out strikes on 12 areas where enemy personnel, weapons and military equipment, ammunition and anti-aircraft missile systems were concentrated. Also, the forces and means of the air defense of Ukraine destroyed 2 Su-34 and Su-30 fighter-bombers.
