The Chairman of the Ukrainian Government congratulated his new colleague on taking office.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmigal spoke via video link with the new head of government of the Republic of Ireland Simon Harris. He reported about the conversation with his colleague on his Telegram page.
Szmigal congratulated Harris on taking office and suggested continuing an active dialogue between the two countries. The prime minister also told his Irish counterpart about the situation on the battlefield and Russian shelling of civilian infrastructure.
The Ukrainian head of government thanked Ireland for supporting Ukraine’s European integration and said that he “counts on solidarity to begin the process of negotiations on accession to the European Union by the end of June.”
Another topic of conversation is confiscation of Russian assets. Ukraine is “working with all stakeholders to find effective legal mechanisms and make the aggressor pay.”
Szmigal “received assurances that Ireland will support Ukraine for as long as necessary.”
