This is how the CPC responded to the spread of fake news in propaganda telegram channels about the accident of power transformers at the South Ukrainian Nuclear Power Plant, which allegedly resulted in the shutdown of nuclear power units.

The pulp and paper mill noted that the personnel at the nuclear power plant ensures the reliable operation of the facilities, and the radiation state at the station is within normal limits. In addition, Westinghouse American fuel is successfully used at nuclear power plants.
- A massive information attack in the Russian-language segment of online media on Westinghouse and Energoatom began after the signing of agreements on the construction of new power units at Khmelnytsky in November 2021 NPP.
- Energoatom categorically denied fakes about the shortcomings of the technology of American AP1000 reactors and the corresponding Westinghouse reactor equipment, as well as false information that Ukrainian specialists are allegedly unable to build a new nuclear power unit using AP1000 technology.
- After February 24, 2022, Energoatom completely stopped cooperation with Russia and, accordingly, it was necessary to reorient the nuclear power plant to use fuel from another manufacturer. Energoatom carried out a number of technical works and also acquired the necessary equipment so that all Ukrainian nuclear power units with VVER-1000 and VVER-440 reactors would operate on nuclear fuel from the American company Westinghouse.
