Dutchman Mark Rutte, who two weeks ago officially made his first visit to Wiesbaden, Germany, where the base of the Alliance's initiative for security and military training for Ukraine is located.
According to Reuters, Rutte delivered a speech to the headquarters staff, representing more than a dozen member countries of the bloc. The official stressed that NATO “is the most powerful military alliance in history, which works for the security of 1 billion people and is ready to counter any threat.”
According to the Secretary General, “our opponents will never succeed in scaring us, and Putin can only have one message: we will do everything to ensure that his plan fails and that Ukraine wins.”
Rutte also recalled that NATO “is a defensive bloc and does not intend to attack anyone.” In this way, he refuted the Kremlin's accusations about the US sending long-range missiles to Germany, which will also be deployed at the Wiesbaden base.
- Rutte had also previously called on allies not to take into account Putin's “saber rattling” and his nuclear threats.
