At the same time, the state is not preparing to lower the mobilization age.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the military command must present a new system of contracts for service in the Armed Forces who have not reached the mobilization age, but want to protect Ukrainians.
President Volodymyr Zelensky said this during his speech in the Verkhovna Rada. These contracts will have a tangible motivational component.
“And there is no need for any speculation: our state is not preparing to destroy the mobilization age; on the basis of new contract approaches, we must gradually move to forming an army to a greater extent thanks to contracts, and not just mobilization,” the president said.
- The mobilization age in Ukraine is 25-60 years. However, those who are younger can stand up for the defense of Ukrainians of their own free will.
