Stream prices for medicines: Radya can cut off the monopoly of pharmaceutical distributors

Before bill No. 11493, the Verkhovna Rada was preparing an amendment to I will purchase one distributor of one drug from one ham and vegetable manufacturer 20% of the total amount as a result of its continuous production.

RBC-Ukraine informs about this via correspondence to Telegraph.

It appears that so exchange dictated Therefore, the pharmaceutical distribution market is monopolized: over 90% of the market is controlled by only two companies – “BaDM” and “Optima-Pharm”.

In addition, separate trade will also require control. individually, most of them are controlled by the five largest so-called “pharmacy measures”.

There are approximately 18,000 pharmacies operating in Ukraine, but over 90% of the pharmaceutical distribution market is controlled by only two companies – “BaDM” and “Optima-Pharm, LTD”, which have increased the average the size of markups from 4.5% in 2021 to 12% in 2024.

The income of these companies increased 6 times, and in 2023 the profit for “BaDM” was UAH 57.6 billion, for “Optima-Pharm, LTD” – UAH 56.7 billion. Under the circumstances of this fate, their income will be even greater.

The leader of Optima-Pharm, LTD is Andriy Gubsky, the brother of the great deputy Bohdan Gubsky and a person from Viktor Medvedchuk’s orbit. The final beneficiaries of “BaDM” are Oleksandr Dytyatkovsky, as well as Oleksandr and Igor Sukhodolsky. Moreover, Dytyatkovsky lingers behind the borders of Ukraine.

Why did the offending companies pay dividends to their rulers: “Optima” 2.9 billion UAH, “BaDM” – 2.3 billion UAH. It is clear that the payment of such significant sums was due to the fact that the AMCU in 2024 has initiated proceedings against the two monopolies, they are threatened with fines amounting to 5.4 billion UAH for “Optimi” and 6 billion UAH for “BaDMu.” In addition, these cats, not turned off, will be taken out of the cordon, where there will be actions from the authorities' companies.

A dangerous situation has developed on the local pharmacy market, with about 60% of it controlled by pharmacies ANC, “Podorozhnik”, “9-1-1”, “Bazhayemo Zdorovya” and “Good Day Pharmacy”.

The large number of pharmacies of these brands create the illusion of choice competition, but also vikors of marketing agreements, for which pharmacies take away wines for the administration of such drugs, regardless of their medical value. Therefore, one and the same drug in different pharmacies can be priced at times higher than in others.

“The government would therefore have strong control over the power of distribution between manufacturers, distributors and pharmacies and protection on marketing agreements “, – means seen.

And now, an amendment to the ordinary bill No. 11493 can limit the volume of purchases of liquor by distributors to 20%, which may increase competition and allow prices to be reduced.
