The leader of the Ukrainians in an interview with British journalist Piers Morgan said that the presence of nuclear weapons in our country would have kept the Kremlin dictator from invading, writes NBN publication.

The head of state believes that if Ukraine had nuclear weapons, the Russian leader “would have received signals” and would not have tried to reach a nuclear war, which would have endangered the entire world. Putin would also be afraid of the reaction of the Russians, who would have understood all the risks posed by the nuclear weapons of a neighboring state.

Recall that our country renounced nuclear weapons in 1994 after signing the Budapest Memorandum. According to the agreement, Ukraine should have received security guarantees. In addition to Ukraine, the document was signed by the United States, Great Britain, and the Russian Federation.

In an interview with an Italian media outlet in January, Zelensky, commenting on Kyiv's renunciation of nuclear weapons, said that it was “stupid” and “absolutely illogical.”

As previously reported, former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba answered whether the restoration of our nuclear potential would help end the war.
