The panel of judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine (HACC) announced the verdict on the former prosecutor and his accomplice, exposed for incitement to provide a bribe to the leadership of the Prosecutor General's Office.

As noted by the Anti-Corruption Action Center, the speech is about the former head of a department of one of the divisions of the Office of the Prosecutor General Oleg Galchenko-Avilov and his accomplice Igor Osipovich.

For this money, the lawyers promised the businessman to solve his problems. In particular, to achieve the return of the confiscated computer equipment and Mercedes-Benz S400 CDI, Porsche Macan GTS, Bentley Continental GT and Land Rover Range Rover cars.

According to the lawyers' plan, the money was to go to the officials of the OGP and the State Fiscal Service. For their help, the suspects wanted to receive a “bonus” of 20 thousand dollars.

Wanting to get the money, the lawyers repeatedly threatened the businessman that he would be suspected and the decision to seize the property would not be cancelled.

The court found Galchenko-Avilov guilty of aiding in the provision of 100 thousand dollars. He was sentenced to 6.5 years in prison, disqualified from holding any law enforcement positions for three years, and ordered to forfeit $60,100.
