Movement by vehicles will partially remain only for the performance of official duties by employees of environmental institutions, law enforcement agencies and other services.
The Verkhovna Rada adopted in the second reading the draft Law No. 11024 “On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On the Nature Reserve Fund of Ukraine” to ensure the preservation of territories and objects of the nature reserve fund.”
This is stated on the website of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources.
The department noted that the first step towards banning “jeeping” was taken in September 2022, when a corresponding petition appeared.
“Jeeping” in protected areas pollutes the soil, destroys flora, and harms wild animals. And today the adoption of this Law is an important step towards European traditions of managing nature conservation areas. Movement by vehicles will partially remain only for the performance of official duties by employees of nature conservation institutions, law enforcement agencies and other services,” said the head of the Ministry of Environment Svetlana Grinchuk.
The minister noted: “If you are offered to admire the landscapes of the national and use an ATV to travel through a natural area, know that this is illegal.”
- This bill was supported by the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Environmental Policy and Nature Management back in March 2024.
- The people's deputies want to prescribe at the legislative level that all-terrain vehicles will be used only for recreational areas, public roads, city streets and private areas. Travel will be prohibited not only in the territory of strict conservation, but also in the zones of stationary recreation.
- In some European countries, there is a ban on entering the forest by private transport.
