On January 20, warm and dry weather without precipitation is expected in Ukraine. This forecast is provided by the Ukrhydrometeorological Center, noting that weather conditions will remain favorable in all regions of the country, writes IZ.
At night, the temperature will fluctuate between +3° and -2°, and in the Carpathians, more noticeable frosts are possible – up to -8°. During the day in Ukraine it will be much warmer: from 0° to +6°, and in the south, Transcarpathia and Prykarpattia the air will warm up to +9°.
The north-west and west wind will have a moderate force of 5-10 m/s, which will create comfortable conditions for walking and being outdoors.
Forecasters also shared an interesting explanation for a natural phenomenon that can be observed in the sky in winter. Often in the evening or morning the sky has bright red hues. This is due to clean and cold air, which contains little moisture. Added to this are microscopic ice crystals that form in the cold. They contribute to the refraction of light, which enhances the red colors in the atmosphere.
Such a forecast promotes active outdoor recreation, especially in the southern regions, where the temperature will be the highest. Residents of the Carpathians should prepare for a frosty night, especially those who plan to spend time outdoors.
