The US President was reminded of his promise to establish peace within 24 hours.
When Donald Trump signed the executive orders in the Oval Office of the White House, selected journalists were allowed to communicate with the US President and ask him questions. One of them concerned the war in Ukraine.
According to the BBC, Trump was reminded of his promise to end the hostilities within 24 hours. The Republican responded that only half a day had passed since his inauguration, and “we'll see what happens next.”
Trump also shared his belief that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky “wants to end the war with a deal.”
“Most people thought this war would last a week at most. I think he really wants to end it,” the Republican said.
