The President spoke about working with partners on new aid packages.
Volodymyr Zelensky, commenting on the consequences of the Russian missile strike on Poltava, said that “air defense and a sufficient number of anti-missiles are a prerequisite for bringing peace closer.”
He said this in an evening video address on February 2.
“That is why Ukraine and the real world need guarantees – guarantees that such evil will be stopped. Reliably. Not just some words or a few papers, but something that can guarantee the absence of Russian terror. Air defense and a sufficient number of anti-missiles are an indispensable condition for bringing peace closer. I am grateful to all partners who help us with this and have a complete vision of what exactly we need,” the head of state said.
The President added that “Petriots”, “Iris-T” all types of necessary air defense, the development of drones and investments in the production of weapons here in Ukraine – this is the protection of the lives of our people, this is the protection of the very idea that peace is possible.”
Zelensky thanked his partners for the military aid packages they provided and added that “we are working to ensure that next week Ukraine will also have the solutions it needs.”
- Sweden, as you know, is transferring a large aid package to Ukraine of more than a billion dollars. In particular, the country will join the so-called “Danish model” of supporting Ukrainian production of drones and missiles.
- Finland has allocated another package of military aid worth almost 200 million euros. Croatia is also preparing assistance.
