February 6 is the day of memory of Saint Vukola, who was a disciple of the Apostle John the Theologian and the first bishop of Smyrna. His life was dedicated to the spread of the Christian faith, the conversion of pagans and the preaching of the word of God, writes IZ. According to legend, he died a martyr's death, and his relics became the source of numerous miracles. Folk traditions on this day are associated with weather signs: thick morning fog indicates a sunny day, and the singing of birds on the tops of trees – a quick warming. On this day, certain prohibitions were also observed, in particular, they did not look in the mirror, did not borrow money and did not find out the gender of the unborn child.
